On a pitch-dark night, strangers managed to gather some blue hornets and allowed them to build nests in a humble farmer’s orchard. The farmer woke up to find himself in a dire situation. Accessing certain parts of the orchard had become dangerous for him and his family. This forced him to avoid those areas and seek help from his brothers, cousins, and neighbors. Despite their efforts to help him, it was not enough to make the hornets retreat or reconsider their presence.
The situation continued to worsen as the hornets not only expanded their nests but also stung anyone who came near them, out of fear and a desire to protect their territory. Eventually, the farmer found himself trapped in his own home, unable to access the orchard.
The farmer turned to those around him for help, sending messages, calling through the windows, and reaching out to them. However, as usual, they provided him with food, water, clothing, and insect repellents, but didn’t assist him enough to rid his home of the hornets or force them out.
Seventy nights passed, and the situation remained the same. The hornets had occupied every room in the house, and the family had to confine themselves to the narrowest room, living under extremely difficult conditions that stripped life of its joy and hope.
One night, one of the farmer’s sons, frustrated by the situation, decided to take action to drive away the hornets and bring hope back to his family. He hoped that his success would rally his brothers, cousins, and neighbors to support him. He managed to free seven rooms of the house and eliminate some of the hornets, forcing others out into the orchard. He knew that the hornets would not stay quiet, and their anger would be more intense, but there were no other options. They had to change the balance.
The hornets awoke the next morning to chaos. How could that son dare to do what he did? Didn’t he know the consequences of his actions? They cried and wailed, hoping to attract the support of strangers while remaining silent about what they were planning. They used threats and intimidation to scare the relatives and neighbors from assisting the family, ensuring that they all entered the house through the back door and gained control over the entire residence.
The hornets recounted their losses and sought the help of strangers. Caravans of their supporters paraded in front of some neighbors and relatives, visible and audible to everyone. They decided to enter the last room, stinging everyone inside and cutting off their supplies. They treated the family as pests, with no rights or value.
The voices around the orchard became louder. Some criticized the son, saying, “Why did he do this? Doesn’t he know the consequences of his actions?” Others supported the hornets, encouraging them to complete their plan to occupy the last room. Some turned a blind eye to what the son did, considering it unjustifiable brutality. Others deceived, spreading false information about what the son did to tarnish the hornets and cut off their wings.
Amid the cacophony of voices, some stood their ground, refusing to accept injustice. They stood for the reasons that led to this impasse, rejecting blame at an inopportune moment. They refused to bemoan when blame served no purpose. They called for justice in the darkness of the night, standing up for the rightful owner of the land and his right to victory and relief. They demanded the opening of windows and back doors to change the equation.
And the tale continues, as either you, the reader, observe from a distance, waiting for the conclusion to cry too late, or you become a part of the story, writing your stance in history and celebrating the upcoming day of victory which will come in the will of God.
